The Coral Consortium, (http://www.coral-interop.org), a cross-industry group founded to promote interoperability among digital rights management (DRM) technologies used in the consumer media market, has just released its complete specifications. While our draft specifications have been available for evaluation for some time, this release marks the availability of Coral's specifications for actual implementation. The specifications include:

  • The NEMO Specifications
    • Coral's trusted communication and authorization framework
  • The Coral Core Architecture Specification
    • Fundamental roles and data structures used to build interoperable solutions
  • The Coral Domain Architecture Specification
    • Tools for supporting interoperable domains of consumer devices

We encourage you to review these specifications which are available on our website and can be downloaded when you click-through the Coral Evaluation Agreement. To create and deploy a Coral Ecosystem, you need to agree to the Coral Ecosystem Agreement, which is also now available.

To assist you in creating an ecosystem based on these specifications we have written a white paper, Coral Ecosystem Formation.

A new Coral FAQ document is also available.

As always, we look forward to your comments, questions, and suggestions. Please contact us at info@coral-interop.org.

Best regards,

Jack Lacy
